2005 Japan Silly
In May 2005 Holly and I went to Tokyo for 10 days. It was
awesome—we didn't have any big plans, we just picked random parts
of Tokyo to explore. Our feet were sore every day from walking many
kilometers through Tokyo, including trekking through grocery stores,
street markets, parks, and cavernous Japanese department stores
(seriously, a Seibu or a Tokyū could eat a Wal-Mart for
lunch).
We took a lot of photos—Holly took thousands of pictures
on her Canon 20D—so we'll probably have a detailed trip log soon.
In the meantime, here are some images specifically of funny Japanese
signs and other cultural stuff.

I heart lunch. From an alleyway we passed while wandering around near the Shiba area in central Tokyo. |
Condomania, a famous store at the intersection of Meiji-dori and Omote-Sando in Harajuku. |
I hear a little honesty is refreshing from time to time. From a vending machine at Meiji-Jingu. |
A sign at the JR Harajuku station. |

All Asians love Snoopy. |
Banana Fish, a boutique on Takeshita-dori in Harajuku. |
Gosh, I always wanted somewhere to store my ducks. |
Yet another Harajuku boutique. |

I had no idea the state I grew up in was famous for pearls. Taken on a small street in Ginza. |
My depiction of a sad sarariman on the famous female lap pillow. |
I'm really not sure what this Shibuya storefront is promising. |
Who's the black private dick who's a sex machine with all the chicks? Apparently, some small Japanese store. |

Wood I like some company? Why yes. Yes I wood. From an alleyway off Aoyama-dori. |
Many street corners in Japan feature barkers handing out packages of tissue with advertising on them, very convenient. |
