Anniversary Trip to Carmel (June 2002)

For our fifth anniversary, Holly and I took a pretty spontaneous trip down to Carmel-by-the-Sea, down in the Monterey Peninsula. We spent a day trekking about tidepools at Point Lobos, a beautiful coastal state park a few miles south of Carmel.

Other than the time we drove down to Santa Barbara (last year, for our fourth anniversary), we hadn't ever been south of Carmel, and we'd never seen Highway 1 south of Carmel during the day, so we spent some time driving the Jeep on Highway 1. There are a couple photos from Garrapata State Beach, a really beautiful and not very crowded beach where sea lions like to hang out; as well as from some of our driving.
